READING AND WRITING

One of the two articles mentioned some ideas that are interesting for me. For example, I think that when a EFL students have to read books, it is difficult to understand some words, and I agree with that method because it can be better for the students to grow or improve their vocabulary. Also, teachers have to use or create methods to the students can learn more reading books; for example, teachers are allowed students to use dictionary in classroom, teachers can give homework to students because they can learn more in home too, and students can find readings with ilustrations in web sites that can be interesting for them. 

In addition, teachers and future teachers can create their own books according to the student level that they are teaching. Also, teachers can use more time in class to improve the reading skill in students through reading quiz. I think that teachers have to know the level of the book to each classroom. 

On the other hand, The second article mentioned information about writing. This is something interesting too. Because some students have ability to be excellent writers. Forx example, in my case i like write and learned a lot fanboys, connectors, linking words, etc; but, not all the students have the ability to use and create good writing. And this article showed some kind of writing.

 Some type of writing are: a letter for a friend, a formal letter, a boigraphy, a description of a person, an argumentative essay, and some others types that are useful to students because they can practice on-line. Students only need that the teachers can prepared a good class including websites to practice writing because I think that Learnes need how to learn or impprove their writing not just speaking skill.

    Hello Vanessa. Your blog this week certainly reveals your insights about reading and writing in English. I appreciate the way your explanations reflect your interests for Ss. We -teachers- can prepare appropriate material as you pointed out. Nobody know better what our students really know and need. Reading and writing materials should not be a source of stress but of enjoyment and learning.

    Hello Vanessa¡¡ I agree with you that teachers have to give to the students interesting material to make them practice their writting and reading skills according to their level. furthemore, I have the same opinion like you in the way that we us techers have to provide students of useful websites in which they might practice writting letters and e-mails.

    Hello Vanessa, I really consider and I like your point about the interesting and the job of teachers to make learners be encouraged with the writing skill. Also, I think that teachers can create the environment to propitiate the writing development and practice, but as you mentioned teachers need to find meaningful and significant methods to motivates them and to make them work in classes and in their house. Besides, giving learners some tasks like write a letter to their friend, write a book, an essay about a topic that are attractive for them to achieve two things.; the first one help them to improve their writing skill , and the second one; give interesting task that makes them be involve with their experiences. I really enjoy your entry!

Online Collaborative Writing Using Wikis. All the things that I was reading about the topic were interesting. First, because the students have the opportunity to work in wikis. Wikis are a tools that we can edit, create and share information through it. Also, I think that the students can find many things in that wikis to do the homework, and the article present an example of it. Teachers and studetns can participe. In addition, one of the advantages to work in groups in the classroom is the studetns can share their ideas, opinions, and expiences. Log. Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary.

Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary Online Dictionaries for Learners The article mentioned some ideas that sound interesting, but I think and I agree that reading comprehension and vocabulary have relationship; for example, a students can read a book and they can uderstand it, but some words can be weird or new for them. For that reason, I think that students acquire vocabulary through the readers. In addition, including the technology students find some books online in which they can discover new vocabulary to learn.  Moreover, I liked the first teaching principles because as a future teachers showed us that we can fin many tools online to teach vocabulary and reading too; for that reason, the article showed the computerized reading and the non-computerized reading.  On the other hand, the article about Online dictionaries talked about two different dicitionaries that are general-use and English-Learner dictionary.       COMPUTERS AND LANGUAGE LEARNING. Mark Warchauer and Deborah Healy   mentioned that many years ago the computers were a weird object in education. Some teachers nowadays use a computer because is an important instrument in all the classroom. It is interested because the article is divides in four parts.  On the other hand, the history showed some approaches in which the technology was grown, but in different ways; for example, I think that the communicative CALL is better because is a cognitive theory, and I consider that behaviorist give less opportunities than communicative CALL because the students are involve and they can work with the computers.
